MKV playback with no sound

I have 2 movies here (.MKV) that both play fine on my PC. But on the TV, with the HD200 (via HDMI cable), picture is great, but I have no sound. All my other videos are .AVI. Is it a format that the HD 200 doesn't support? Or something I should change in my config? Thanks

It depends on the audio track embedded in your MKV. HD200's can't play DTS files. The only thing that will help you there is connect your HD200 to a capable receiver, or add the AC3 audio track to the file so you can switch between it can be replaced too.

Head over here for an easy tool that will help you get your MKV playable on your HD200 natively:

I just tried your tool. Here is what I get:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
D:\SAGEAudioConvert>SAGEAudioConvert d:\AudioConvert\test.mkv
SAGEAudioConvert 0.1.15

using madshi eac3to http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=125966
mediainfo dll http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net
mkvtooolnix http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/index.html

Thread priority set to: Normal

Analyzing test.mkv.
Audio track: [en] DTS 5.1.
AC-3 track exists.
Done
---------------------------------------------------------------------

If I understand this correctly, the AC3 track is already there. So my problem must be something else...

It's probably playing the DTS by default. Change the audio track to AC-3. Hit the Options button while it is playing. (CTRL-O)

Or delete the DTS track with mkvtoolnix if you don't want/need it and would prefer the AC3 to play by default. Of course you should verify the content of the AC3 track before deleting the DTS - just in case it's commentary or a different language.
