It really comes as no surprise that once Comcast actually did their part all my problems vanished. I'm glad they finally ran a new line from the street, who knows how old the previous one was...

I've not had 1 problem since.

My rejoicing has come to an end. The problems are back with slightly different symptoms. Now my connection usually doesn't drop completely. It just slows to a crawl. High latency issues. Weird part is my downloads are horrible (<1Mb/s) on speedtest.net, while my upload is ok around 2-4Mb/s.

Why would uploads be almost where they should and downloads be terrible? I also tested this outside at the ground block. I took my laptop and cable modem there and was able to get it to flake out on me, no splitters, no routers just the pure feed off the pole.

They are sending a tech out on Monday...

But your common denominator is the cable modem..or the settings within the cable modem.

While I concur, I've also been through numerous modems and this one I just bought last fall... It's a Motorola SB6120 Docsis 3 modem. Not to say that it is not the culprit but I hope it's not. I'll have to check the warranty on it...
