New AVerTV CaptureHD

Is there any chance of this card working with Sage?

It looks real promising to me and is MCE compatible. It looks like it's just been released recently.

I thought this looks more interesting.

This looks like a re branded AVerTV USB HD DVR but it appears to work and come with ArcSoft Total Media Extreme now. If it has a driver for TME I would think it would be possible to get it working with SageTV.

This box (HDDVR) is working with DVBLogic, so it would be usable in Sage. Just hard to spend the same money on a HDDVR as the HDPVR, since the HDPVR has more support currently and few reports on the HDDVR

It's a software encoder, not advisable.

What you really want Sage TV to support is this model:

AverMedia DarkCrystal HD Capture Station

I am just ever hopefull of a component PCI/e card for HD. I tried the HDPVR for a little while but way too many lockups for me or should I say blank recordings in the middel of the show.

Thanks for all the feedback,

I am pretty happy with my HD-PVRs at this point. They are very stable so not likly to buy something like this since it does appear to be a bit of a downgrade on the audio front.

Still, always nice to have a little competition to keep the price down. Especially for someone have problems with HD-PVR.
