Question Broken install - can't reinstall - SMM API Failed

I had SMM running fine on my WHS box a few weeks back but I started noticing some weird behaviour - like not being able to play newly added movies and the movie posters showing up on the main menu screen even when I wasn't in SMM.

So... I thought I'd uninstall and reinstall.

Now I can't install SMM. When I try to install the plugin, the SMM API says it Failed and SMM is Disabled.

I've tried installing the latest MyMovies for WHS, and I've tried stopping the SageTV service and deleting the datafiles then fresh reinstall.

I get the same result each time. Is there something else I should try?

Any help? I can't seem to generate a log for SMM since I can't install it.

Thanks,
uberpixel

What has worked for me in a similar situation is to delete the SMM application (NOT the API!). This should result in the SMM API listed as active. Then reinstall the SMM application.

Hope this helps.
