I voted "too expensive" because that was my only reason for not purchasing it before today (thanks for the sale price, btw!)

I voted "too expensive" as well. The sale price is awesome though, I'll probably buy it tonight.

What's the reason for the sale price? Is it because Google bought SageTV?

"What's the reason for the sale price? Is it because Google bought SageTV?"

Several reasons:

1) Until one tries, one doesn't know if they can sell lots more if it was cheaper.
2) Google influence
3) It's a Holiday!
4) Haven't had a Sale yet.

I know some of the CQC & Sage'rs were wondering whether it would add $30 of value beyond what we'd get with CQC remote screens, but i'd bet the $10 price would low enough where it could be a nice "may-as-well" impulse level.

(and i'm glad I played several soccer games in the last 3 days, hadn't gotten around to pressing the buy button, but I certainly did just now).

Technically the Android version did have that promotional price during the pre-launch period, but the iOS had not.

I didn't buy it earlier as the price was too much.
Sale price is the sweet spot for me, and i've clicked "buy"

Quite simply, the Sage-related functions that I need on my iPod Touch are ones which work perfectly well via the Web Interface plugin. If TiSage were free, I'd probably look at it, but since I already have a working solution, it was really a matter of the other plugin being available first (and free).

I have an iPod Touch gen 4 and an iPad first generation. What I want is the ability to watch Live TV.

I am using Air Video and the web streaming on my iPad/iPod and they work well enough for watching video.

If I want to watch Live TV I have to set a recording and start the playback after the program has been recording for 5-10 minutes. The problem is once you start playback with Air Video it only plays back how much of the recording was captured up to that point. So you have to stop playback, refresh, restart.

I'd consider going with a Windows based tablet just to use SageTV with. The iPad was free as a bonus from work so I didn't buy it.

A friend used to have a portable Sony wireless TV. I think that would have work with an RF remote for around the house.

When I first looked at TiSageTV, it was more for the gee-wiz effect of having yet one more thing available on my iPhone and bragging rights when the other gear heads come over. What I found after using it is that it keeps my library around when I am outside the house (useful when stumbling on a DVD sale and trying to remember if I have the movie already) and the text entry is very useful when editing favorites or searching (slightly more useful performing search on the web version, slightly more useful updateing Sage screens with TiSage).

I guess the only downside is that I chastise myself for falling for the Fashion Technology Device with the zombie like cult following versus getting an android and being true to my roots.

Which can be done with TiSageTV... Of course you do need one of the capture device from SageTV to be active, either by scheduling a recording job or launching LiveTV on one of the SageTV client/extender... (the iPhone demo video on the wiki shows that 1 minute in...)
