how fast can i setup hdhr-prime live TV?

now that i found my problem with liveTV (don't use ntfs-3g drives for recording directories with linux!!), i have rock stable liveTV so now i have to see how far i can push it

what are the recommended values for timers and waiting to be set in Sage.properties if I want to keep my reliable operation but tune liveTV and switch channels as fast as is consistent with robust operation?

what values/optimizations have you all found to work for you?

You shouldn't need to modify any settings in Sage.properties for that to be optimal.

in Sage.properties, there is

"mmc/encoders/1424382901/delay_to_wait_after_tuning="

i remember this was a large number for hd-pvr, not sure what i have for hdhr-prime.

also, in openDCT.properties there are some wait time before streaming variables

It'll be zero for anything but the HDPVR (that's the only device we default that value to a non-zero value for)...unless of course you changed it. I don't know anything about what's in openDCT.properties though.

OpenDCT configures that property on discovery to be 0.

It just clicked on what you might be talking about (wait_for_streaming). I would leave those alone. They are needed for SageTV to detect MPEG-PS files correctly. Basically it's the maximum time in milliseconds OpenDCT will wait for streaming to start before it returns to SageTV. If you're using an HDHomeRun, tuning times should be generally less than 5 seconds.

I was using hd-pvrs for about 8-9 years until I switched to hdhr last year (Switched from twc to fios the minute I had the opportunity).

"Night and day" doesn't even begin to describe it!
