Anti-Favorites for Dummies Plugin

Hi, I am testing the anti favorites for dummies (AF) plug in and am scratching my head about the best way to add shows to it.

I am only able to see the Add to Anti-favorites if there are at least 2 shows from a season in the recordings. If there is only a single show from a season I cannot see the option to add it to AF so I could prevent another recording.

I am not able to add shows via the Manage Anti-Favorites menu. I can only manage already existing AF's.

My question is, do I have to wait till there are at least two recordings to be able to add the entry to the AF. I feel like I am completely missing something here. Also, I have not been able to find any instructions for the plugin either.

Thanks, Bill

While the show is in focus press the "Record" button, then bring up the recording options. One of the choices should be "Add as an anti-favorite".

I am using my test server to record lots favorites by category. So what I am seeing is shows already recorded that I want to add so they never get picked up by those category favorites again.

Category's like Special, History, Auto Racing, Documentary etc.

I am thinking you are referring to picking a show in the program guide and add it that way. I guess I could also go back and find the show in the guide and do it that way. Oh, I don't get the choice that way.

I see an Anti Favorites Choice if I have at least 2 recordings in All Recordings, but I do NOT have the Anti Favorites Choice if there is only 1 recording. See Pics. What am I doing incorrectly?

Did you click on recording options as Tmiranda suggested?

In the second picture select "Record Options". Add anti-favorite should appear there.

Sorry, I guess I should have included that screen shot. No choice for Anti Favorites for any show that only has one show recorded. It only shows up if there is more than one recording and only at the All Recordings menu, none of the individual shows behind that menu option have the AF option either.

Just a guess but it is satisfying one of your favorites correct? I noticed the same thing as long as the only recording matched a favorite. But when the series had a second episode that didn't match the favorite I could select an anti-favorite. I figured I was just doing something wrong or it just didn't allow you to set an anti favorite on an episode/show that ALREADY matched an existing favorite.

I am using very generic favorites as an example, Specials, or Music, or Sports, documentaries etc. So they all qualify. I just want to not record certain specials or music with the anti favorites. So all the second episodes will match the favorite since they are so generic. -Bill

That's the issue. If it's a Favorite it can't be marked as an anti-Favorite.

I guess you mean that's for single episodes?
Once I get two or more I can mark them as anti favorites. As an example I have a favorite for "Hot-to". It records lots of shows, one of which is called "Growing a greener world". When there was only one episode under recordings I could not add it to the anti-Favorites, but now that there are a few (a grouping of shows?) the Add anti-Favorite option is there. So what I am thinking is that if I only allow one show to record I cannot make it an anti-Favorite, but if I wait and allow multiple same shows I will be able to add it even if it is actually a favorite?

OK, finally am home and looked at this on my system. In the case where there is only 1 recording you should be be able to select "Record Options" and then add the anti-favorite from there. Is that not working?

Hmm. It appears sometimes it does have that option. And I have seen an odd problem. Even though I am setting a favorite for "How-To", so of the shows it records are bolded like they are favorites, and others are not bolded and they show the anti-favorite option.

I think I see a pattern I had not noticed before now. If the show gets marked as Archived it is not always bolded like a favorite and shows the anti-favorite option. Some shows are archived and still are bolded like a favorite and do not show the anti-favorite option. This is weird, I thought there was a pattern with the archive check box but it appears that's not very consistent either. Here is a shot of the fav's screen.

If i have a how-to favorite, there shouldn't be a way I can anti favorite some sewing show that recorded by it unless there are multiple sewing shows? If there are more than one of the same thing, the anti-favorites shows up.
