I am confused about recording quality
What is the recording quality coming out of the hauppauge usb2 pvr?
Now I am using excellent, but maybe it is useless? What is the best quality supplied by this pvr? Thanks for your answers. |

Mpeg-2 Max quality uses 12 mbit/s and is the highest setting allowed by the Hauppauge usb(2) pvr device.

I use a custom setting of 9mbit/s which comes out to about 4.5GB/hr and still see some ghosting and blockiness when watching some sporting events. So I would have to say that no it is not always a waste to use more than 2GB/hr...
