All Mac versions can play non-encrypted DVD images. The current build has some changes in place that will allow playing over the network. Instructions will be posted shortly.

I am also waiting on being able to play back ripped DVD's. I rip mine in 'as is' using 'DVD shrink' or 'mac the ripper'.
These rips play fine on my PC, but on the mac I get a playback error. |

If you're wanting to set up DVD library mappings from a Mac client to a Windows server, see http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33742.
The problem I'm having is that ripped DVD playback on the Mac client is terribly choppy. I've had no problems with a similarly-connected Windows client. There are known issues with OS X SMB performance, so I'm wondering whether that's the problem. Anybody else fiddled with this? |

I have a separate machine running FreeBSD 6.2 where I put all my ripped DVD's. The shares then I entered as Media Center Import directories.
No problems with playback in the MAC client here. |
