Phoenix for Dummies
Hi. I've read a bit about "Phoenix", and see a lot of the heavy community developers focusing their attention on this new...I guess it's currently an API?
However, with the varied developers leaning towards it, it seems like it's planning on being more than an API to me... I'm not sure what it's all about and was hoping some folks could fill in some of the blanks. What's it going to be when it grows up? Thanks! AL

Well, right now Phoenix is an amazing API by stuckless that opens up a bunch of new stuff already being used in some addons available today.
This link explains how meinmaui has began working with a team of developers on the "Phoenix project." As Mike said in that post it will bring new functionality and ideas to SageTV. That should get your mind working on what could be coming - pretty much all that can be said for now. No ETA, no more clues or tips on what might be coming. For now just enjoy knowing that you are using the best HTPC program and extender on the market and know it can only get better Examples of cool stuff released for SageTV available now: Batch MediaDataImporter BMT Serenity Today SlimPlayer SageMovieWall etc, etc. Lots of good stuff available now. And lots of good stuff coming down the road. Last edited by Brent; 05-25-2009 at 07:13 PM. |

Hi Brent...yep, seen most of that stuff, including MeInMaui's post. Was hoping to coax someone out of hiding to share some more info. <smile>
Selfishly, the "retirement" of new SageMC development has me hoping that it will allow for a complete UI overhaul of some kind... maybe by allowing a 3rd party UI to interface with SageTV's spectacular insides? <crossing fingers>
