understanding install paths

1. Plug-Ins appear to extract here C:\Program Files (x86)\SageTV\SageTV
2. Wiz.bin and Sage.Properties only appear here C:\Users\SageTV user\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\SageTV\SageTV

I remember seeing something about being wary of changing items in VirtualStore and in fact, some modifications no longer appear to be there.

Am I in the right place for wiz.bin and sage.properties? What am I missing?

When in doubt, check the FAQ.

Thanks for that. I'm still confused though as I use W7. So in my case, can you tell me what directory to go to in order to make permanent changes to the sage.properties file?

Is it C:\Users\SageTV user\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\SageTV\SageTV or another location?

If you sage.properties exists in that location, then yes, that's where you would make changes to it. Ideally, though, it's best to just install sage outside of program files, since it isn't well programed, in regards to UAC. It just works better to get away from the UAC in general.

Another plea to PLEASE make SageTV7 UAC compliant, so these issues can go away!
