No HDHR OTA channels in STV guide?
I recently purchased the HDHR and I am having a problem with the OTA channels appearing in the STV guide. I have followed the guide Opus4 provided for setting up the HDHR and the guide provided by Silicondust.
Input 0 - Cable QAM (this is working quite nicely) Input 1 - Digital OTA (I can view the scanned channels in setup but the channels do not show up in the lineup) I also have a PVR150 hooked to cable stb which is working quite nicely. I did do a channel scan in HDHR for the OTA NTSC channels and a .frq file was created in the SageTV folder. I then rescanned the OTA channels in Sage but no .scn file was created. I think this is normal per the guides but just in case. Could the presence of the OTA .frq file be a problem? Please help! ![]()

Did you also do a channel scan on the OTA tuner in Sage setup?

You're saying that channels enabled in Channel Setup are not seen in the Program Guide? If so: they are there; see pages 47 and/or 151 in the PDF manual.

Yes I did a channel scan of the OTA tuner in STV setup. I get all of the channels I expected and I can view them in STV setup but they do not show up in the STV Guide.

Andy is the expert of course, but if you see the channels in tuner setup, and you can preview the channel, all that's left is to enable the channel (green dot should be showing). You will not get guide information until the channel is remapped to something in your area to sync with Zap2it. If the channel is enabled, you still should see the listing in the guide but with NO Data showing. I don't have OTA, but in my area I use Comcast. The local network stations are still sent in HD but the "physical" and "logical" channels have to be mapped to see data in the guide. When I do a scan in HDHR, my local CBS station shows up as Physical 73-30. If you edit the channel in HDHR to a Zap2it channel listing and add or edit the station listing number in HDHR guide ( I change mine to 809) and the local station name (CBSDT). When Sage imports that station , it brings along that data. Should work. In the words of Forrest Gump, "That's all I have to say about that".

An example: SD(PVR150): Logical channel#460, Physical channel # 460, Station name: KBOIDT QAM: Logical channel# 460, Physical channel # 100-1008-28 Station name: KBOIDT OTA: Logical channel# 2-1, Physical channel # 28-2-1 Station name: KBOIDT Channel 460 is enabled in Hauppauge tuner (SD PVR150) as well as the other two tuners. The STV guide shows channel 460. If I choose to watch live tv on 460 the HDHR (input 1) lights up indicating that the HDHR tuner is being used. I was expecting there to be a channel 2-1 KBOIDT, which is what I was getting when I was using the DIVCO HDTVFusion USB for OTA. Thank you for helping and thank you for the guide you put together. ![]()

It looks like your guide uses 460 as the logical channel for that station in your area. Try remapping the OTA tuner station 2-1 to to Logical 460 and leave the physical channel alone. I don't think you will get a seperate listing for that channel, but HDHR and Sage will use it as needed

When I go in Series settings and scroll through the channels I want to use I now get (!) after the channels that have multiple tuners associated with them; is that normal? Thanks again for your help. Update: I think it is working! I recording two HD programs simultaneously and the correct tuners were used. BTW, how many shows can be simultaneously recorded to a HDD and stream video from that HDD?

They gave it a good try in the manual, but trying to get these 3 turners to work like you want then to work is a chore. I have all of the HD stations from the 3 tuners displaying the same Logical channel. Then the HDHR software automatically selects the tuner to use. In the HDHR setup, go to advanced and check to box "Automatically select from available tuners"
