Instant Replays from a camcorder
I tape youth hockey and use a small monitor connected to my camcorder via composite for people to watch my work live if they're curious. Could Sage allow people to rewind, slo mo, and pause without interfering with my recording?
I did a forum-search and read up on sage for about 15 minutes, please redirect me if I missed something. Thanks, Sage Rookie |

First off, you would have to bring a PC of some sort along, on which to run Sage. A laptop or small form-factor PC would do. Second, you would need some sort of tuner device. That would require some research (or suggestions from others here). You might be able to find a USB tuner that has composite-in that wouldn't be too burdensome. That would get your signal into the Sage PC. At that point, it would just be like watching live TV, where you could pause, rewind, etc.
However, there are threads around here about Sage's ability - or, limited ability - to record a manual recording, without an EPG listing, in the method you mention. Search around for threads of people wanting to use it to record VHS tapes to their PCs. The general consensus of those who have tried it seems to be that Sage is not the best application (it can work but there are much easier ways). Good luck.

Sage doesn't have a slow-mo function.

Not as such, but you could probably fake one up with a plugin that toggles between Play and Pause several times a second.

On the extenders, you can hold down the Pause button and it does slo-mo. Does that function not work when viewing directly on the server PC itself (I've never tried)?
Hey tonedefiant, you want this function so you can show other parents their kids' great plays, not so you can harass the refs over bad calls, right?
