Question about SageTV Service

After being a Sage-TV User for some time, I am re-configuring my HTPC a bit to try using XBMC as a front end. To this end, I set Sage-TV to not load at start-up, and then started the Sage-TV Service. The problem I find is that if I want to make any changes to my Sage-TV configuration (i.e. add a new recording) I have to stop the service and open Sage-TV. Otherwise, when opening Sage-TV with the service running, it acts as if it is a new installation with no tuners detected and no schedule for TV shows.

Not a huge problem, but I was planning on having Launcher in XBMC set to open Sage-TV and event ghost set up to control Sage-TV from the remote. Is this normal behavior for Sage-TV service?

By the way:
My OS is Win7
Running SageTV V. 6.X

You do need to configure the service mode once and then you'll be fine...

That's not really true... at least not with my 64bit win 7 server...
things have gotten a bit weird for me since upgrading to win 7...
launching gui sometimes kills service... sometimes gui says can't connect to service, sometimes gui starts up in its own world/config...
its just odd...
