Couldn't get it to scan and find any channels with my OTA HDHomeRun even after I got it to manually lock in on a couple of them.
If I did get it working, it doesn't support any form of cable card tuner. Doesn't look like it supports client server model. Added top level video library folder, but it didn't list any of the files in subfolders. Can't tell you how the interface works because I didn't get anything to work. Not impressed at all. |

I was somewhat amused by the "casualness" of their website (like how they described the DVR functions as "all your usual DVR functionality" and that's it - didn't take the time to even type out any details) but that also made me wonder how well they proverbially dotted their i's and crossed their t's. Reading ranger's comments above, it sounds like my suspicions were correct...

I rev a reply from Simon the dev but said he not be registering here but feel free to pass notes along to you both.
@Ranger - needs to change HD homerun config to "bda other" or whatever it's called and add any applicable firewall changes. They had sent me a software simulator to test their setup and it worked fine with some config tweaks. There's successful HD homerun telemetry from out in the wild, meaning channels will come in if configured correctly through its console. Sub level folders will index but it only does a handful at a time, low priority, and when opening the recordings view. F3 for server, although it's not really a feature, just a bit of piss farting around with mobile UI/http end point, encoder and ts/fMP4 re-multiplex. Doubt anybody uses it as rarely will people have a GPU accelerated encoder filter, which would be a requirement for HD source low-bitrate re-encoding. Basic remux was fine, but ipod wouldn't decode the HDTV/h264 profile when I tested ages ago. @pj - the app's sole purpose in life is field-testing for my SDK. No plans on advertising or making it a commercial thing. |
