Added Import Directory, Not Showing Up In Sage UI?
I just added another import directory - making a total of 11 directories.
But it's not showing up in the UI. I did the thing where the Service is stopped, props updated manually, service started again, and Setup | Scan Imported Media.. but no luck. So I fell back to the Sage UI and specified the directory there - using the folder navigation built in to the UI so as to take fat-fingering the path out of the picture..... and followed up with Setup | Scan Imported Media, but still no luck. The only movie in the newly-added directory (\\\\NAS\\B\\Streamed_HBO,1;) is still not showing up in Sage's "Folders" list..... and neither is the recording showing up in "Titles". OTOH, all the folders and recordings in \\\\NAS\\B\\Streamed_NetFlix,1; are showing up.... so that would seem to take the NAS box's security out of the picture since the two examples are just different folders on the same share). For the masochistically-inclined, the entire props entry looks like this: Code:
seeker/archive_directory=\\\\NAS\\B\\DVDs_NetFlix,1;\\\\NAS\\B\\DVDs_NoBackup,1;\\\\NAS\\B\\DVDs_Owned,1;\\\\NAS\\A\\Videos,5;\\\\NAS\\A\\Photo,5;\\\\NAS\\B\\DVDs_Library,1;\\\\NAS\\B\\Streamed_NetFlix,1;\\\\NAS\\B\\Torrented,1;;\\\\NAS\\$OriginalRips,1;\\\\NAS\\B\\Streamed_HBO,1; I have done this plenty of times before without a problem. Does this sound familiar to anybody? Edit 2015 07-05 17:20: Oops.... turns out it just took a loooooong time for Sage to retrieve from the newly-added folder.... as in over 20 minutes instead of 5.... "Patience is a virtue".... Case Closed....

if any scan is taking 20 minutes, then you likely have some corrupted files in your library somewhere that it is choking on until it times out.

Any thoughts on what utility to use for scanning the library? OTOH, I guess that is a question for the ReadyNAS support group...

Any errors in the scan would likely show up in the Sagetv log file.

I'd also be on the lookout for obsolete folders. I'm pretty sure the paths are also visible in the log file Fuzzy is referencing.

Net effect of this is to consolidate all the movies in "Folder" view to appear under the same folder name if/when folders have been renamed and to remove any movies that I have deleted via Windows File Manager. But now, when I open up the Sage UI with the media import directories removed from props, it is taking a very, very long time for Videos By Folder to reflect the missing movies.... at first I thought I had my Props file versions messed up and I was saving one with media import dirs defined when I wanted them blank.... but I had the right file, it just took about 20 minutes for Sage to catch on that there were no almost videos to be shown. "Almost" because six legitimate movie folders still come up, eleven recorded TV shows come up - even so they are legitimate recordings and reside in recording directories and not movie dirs, AND one of the movie .AVIs persists albeit without it's parent directory. So next I set seeker/video_storage to also be blank in the props file without the media import dirs and went through the little protocol of killing the Service, saving the no-import props file, restarting the service..... Now the rogue .AVI is gone (SB, since I deleted it...) but 13 recorded TV shows remain and checking their Info confirms that they reside in the three RecordedTV dirs that are *not* defined anymore. I am starting to think that Wiz.bin is, somehow, corrupted but am a little bit anxious about deleting it and letting Sage re-create it. What do you think? Will the props file fill in everything so that the newly-created Wiz.bin and Sage in general will not have lost anything?
