HD300 error PlaybackException

In just the past few days I have one HD300 that is working fine when I try to play a recorded program and another that is showing the following error when trying the same thing:
Quote:
There was a Playback Error in playback. Details:
sage.PlaybackException
No matter whether I playback a recording or try to see a live program I get this error. My other HD300 works just fine.
On the faulty one I also see a message at the top of the screen that indicates it thinks it is playing back a live program even though I am not.

My server is running Windows 10 1909 64-bit build 18363.778.
Software version: V9.2.1.826 (32-bit)
Java Version: 1.8.0_251

Have you tried doing a hard reboot (unplug HD300 from wall for 10+ seconds before plugging back in) recently?

That's similar to what I did before I read the reply. I have seen other issues over time with these units. For me, it seemed like the units build up heat and stop functioning correctly. Even though they are "off" (red light on), the units are still very warm to the touch. For that reason, I turn them off for several minutes, thinking when they cool down they might work better. This time it was successful. I wish there was a more current hardware option that would be a little better.

I purchased a USB fan with feet that keeps the extender always cool. Stopped my problems.

Where did you put the fan? I haven't looked at it in a while - Is there a USB port on the back of the HD300?
