Which encoder is '1', '2', '3' etc...

Is there any easy way to determine which encoder is encoder number 1, 2, 3 etc when looking at the schedule of recordings? I'd like to know which shows are being recorded from my HDHomeruns and which are not..

Thanks!!

go into the configuration like you are going to add another encoder. If I remember right, it shows you the current encoders and their numbers.

I used to think that was right.. but in my setup.. my HD Homeruns are listed in the sources as encoder 1 and 4.. yet in my guide they are encoders 1 and 3!

There doesn't appear, short of the web app, to see which tuner is assigned to which upcoming recording by name.. I will have to hope that the 1 and 3 don't change.. then I just have to make sure my little old brain can remember which is which!

I'm sorta confused, in my Sage setup, my tuners are listed by name (AverTV A180, Vbox DTA 150, WinTV PVR 250, etc), I don't have an encoder "1", "2", etc.

Did you have to edit the properties file to get the HDHR to work (ie manually setup a network encoder)? If so you can just change the name in the properties file.

I'm talking about in the guide.. if I look in the guide for upcoming recordings, it will show what tuner is scheduled for use, as well as if it it first run and/or watched or not.. thing is I'm never quite sure what tuner is tuner '1' or '2' or whichever..

Are you using a customization which is showing these numbers in the guide? I use the parallel option/view in the upcoming recordings screen instead of the default interleaved view and that does show which encoder will record each upcoming show.

Stock SageMC.. I think..

I'll look for the encoder names plug in.. Haven't heard of that one!! It isn't a big deal, I just wanted to be SURE that a show that I want to be recorded in HD is.. and the easiest way was to look at the ecoder being used..

In the image below, the numbers represent, I think, the encoder either scheduled for use, or the encoder that was used.. I was just trying to figure out if there was an easy way to know which encoder that gui is referring to.

In MC I go to the Settings menu and where all the information is on the right, the encoders are listed in order. I simply count them to associate with a number. I've also never seen the numbers in the setup video sources be different than on the guide, etc.

I tell it is going to be in HD by looking for the HD icon.

I'll check that out... I don't use the digital guide for my EPG so Sage has no way of knowing it is in HD. I map the digital QAM channel to my analog channel.. got too confusing having the same channel in my guide twice. I wish the EPG was smart enough to know if the show was available in HD and would signify it as such, that way both Sage would know to grab an HD encoder if possible, or at the very least show through the gui that it is available in HD, even if we are using the analog data..

Update: Just checked.. in the "Settings" in SageMC it also shows the encoders the same as the 'Setup Sources' order.. which is NOT the order that the encoder icons are being numbered as.. My HDHomeruns are encoders 1 & 4 in the setup.. but in the guide, they are numbers 1 & 3!

No worries, just intriguing..

You could probably rename the image files for 3 and 4 and name them 4 and 3 instead. I'm assuming they are somewhere in the SageMC folder.

IF you install the web client it lists them in numerical order, although it doesn't list the number. But 1 is on top, with the last one on the bottom.

btl.

Same order as all the other places I've looked.. and still wrong.. the HDHomerun I have shows in the GUI as encoders 1 & 3... but they list as 1 & 4 everywhere I look.. No biggie, as I've said.. just curious..
