HELP with STB Control

Hi,

I have been using SageTV and Client for several years to watch analog channels from my Comcast cable feed on a wireless laptop. I now want to add another tuner and control two Comcast set top boxes (STB) and veiw SageTV on two TV's in other rooms. I was planning on buying two media extenders (MediaMVP's), one for each of the TV's. I have been reading and reading, and I must be missing something and hope someone will please give me a hand.

When the MediaMVP is connected to the TV, how do you do STB control?

I understand it when the STB is controlled by the remote that came with my PRV-250 capture card, but I do not understand how to control it from the MediaMVP.

Do you have to use something like USB-UIRT?

If so, does the USB-UIRT have to have its own USB cable run all the way back to the PC, or is there another way to do that?

How does the USB-UIRT control an IR blaster (I am assuming this one is different than the one that came with my PVR-250 card)?

The way everyone talks about this it must be fairly straightforward, but I have to be missing something. Would someone please give me a hand understanding this or point me in the right direction of a guide that describes it the setup. I just want to use a media extender to control my STB's and view SageTV (Live TV, recorded TV, imported videos, and music) on my TV's. I have looked and looked, but can not seem to find a good description of this setup. Please help.

Thanks so much for any help you can provide.

OK, boy do I feel stupid. I just figured out I had made the wrong assumption about the USB-UIRT device. I think I get it now.

Sorry for the post.
