Black Screen After Uninstalling Arcsoft
I am using an HD-PVR with SageTV, and after uninstalling Arcsoft because of problems with Fallout 3, I now get a blank screen in SageTV when I try to play recorded files. It doesn't seem to matter which codec I use. The files are fine, as confirmed in PowerDVD. Any idea how to get video back?

Take a look at the following lines in your sage.properties / sageclient.properties file in the Sage directory:
videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter= videoframe/aac_audio_decoder_filter= Make sure it is not still set to use the Arcsoft decoders. Also, I was never able to get the Cyberlink decoders working with h264 & aac content until I started using the beta demuxer (aac still does not work for me, but I use SPIDIF now from the HDPVR so not a problem anymore). I believe others were able to use the cyberlink decoders, so that might be hit or miss. edit: You'll have to have Sage completely shutdown if you need to make changes to the properties files

Alright, for some reason it still has Arcsoft in there. What should I replace it with?
Edit: I used "CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD8)" and it seems to work, but now I have no audio! Last edited by riverlethe; 11-13-2008 at 06:54 AM.

For Audio if you install the AC3Filter and use that you will move the audio codecs out of any applications codecs. This will also enable 5.1 output over your SPDIF. I use AC3Filter for both vidoe and DVD audio codecs and it works great. It is also the only way I can get more then 2 channel output from my SPDIF.
