I've set up WHS on a test machine before taking the plunge next week sometime.

Is the HDHR software setup like a normal XP program or something like the WHS add-in like Sage does?

It's the same as XP. Be sure to follow the SageTV setup instructions EXACTLY as posted on the SilconDust website. I found it MUCH easier to setup my HDHR using keyboard/mouse and monitor on WHS versus the console. YMMV.

I just download the WHS version of SageTV, and install it normally. It appears in the WHS console, where I can stop and start it, as well as put in licenses. I didn't know that there was another way to do it. Of course, you can still access it through services.msc.
