HD-PVR & PVR-350 IR's - Can They Operate Seperately on 2 Different STB's

OK, I have a HD-PVR. As I understand it, I can't hook up a second one and have independent IR control of channel changing on my STB's with the built-in Hauppauge HD-PVR's IR blasters.

Is that also the case if I used an older PVR-350 with IR blaster to a non-HD STB and my HD-PVR to my HD-capable STB with it's IR blaster? Or do I have to use a USB USIRT or something like that?

Thanks for any info.

The Hauppauge software only supports talking to one IR device. With multiple tuners and IR you can't tell it which one to talk to so you may get undesired results. Your best bet is to use the USB-UIRT like myself and so many other users do. You can actually use the USB-UIRT to control up to 3 STBs if you may be looking at that further down the road.

Thank you very much for the prompt and helpful reply. I suspected that, and that is fine. It's good to know the UIRT will handle up to 3 STB's as well.

Thanks again.
