looks like the nielm_sageutils.JAR in the zipfile I uploaded was corrupt/wrong version, which meant the IMDB parsing failed.

Should be fixed now if you re-download it...

I have uploaded a new 3.6 which fixes move image download some more...
This is still a JAR update only.

Mightyt/polypro: I am pretty sure that your problem is the wrong nielm_sageutils.jar -- the correct one should be 14637 bytes, dated 02-05-06. In any case the 3.6 will give a better error than 'null'.

FYI ... Tried searching "Ford" under "Search for Person" and got a different error .... ??

IMDB search failed net.sf.ageplugins.sageimdb.DbFailureException:java.net.ConnectException:Connection timed out: connect

I hit "Back" button instead of clicking the "Back to Main Menu" and the scren said ...

Found 1 results searching for Person Ford in IMDB with a "View Details" button. When I click that I get the same error above???

Then tried ... "Everybody Loves Raymond" under "Search for Title" and it worked??

So, I then tried ... "Harrison Ford" under "Search All Fields" and again it worked!!

Did "Carrey" for Person and this time it worked???

Tried "Murphy" for Person and All fields and it did not work??

Then tried "Eddie Mur" in all fields and it worked, but not with Person ....

So, I coclude there is no ryhme or reason and it is intermittant ...

Hmmm ....

it looks like IMDB have changed their search results page when too many people match the search... Will have to look into it sometime

Thanks neilm ... Not sure if it was a coincidence, but I only picked this up when I upgrded from 3.3 to 3.5 and 3.6.

Is it possible to back rev an import? If I reinstall 3.3 and reimport it will t go back to 3.3 successfully? Then I could try it again and see if it is IMDB ...

Is the IMDB plugin having problems with the "Filmography" section? Most of it works but the GUI will not ever select Filmography and nothing shows up for that. I have installed each of the updates in order thru 3.6. Everything works except that.

I noticed there are some other issues that could be related to IMDB website changes so that could be the cause.

I would like to have the first result automaitcally displayed instead of the details screen when I click on an imported video.

If there is no IMDB results found it could default to the standard details screen.

It would also be really amazing if the Thumbnails could be saved so that they can be used for the folder view thumbnail.

Is any of this interesting you Nielm?


EDIT: I'm going to try to hack this in studio for now...

The one thing I miss about SageMC is the import feature from IMDB results. Is it possible for this to be part of this import for the people that do not use SageMC?

Well, I must apologize to nielm on the IMDB plugin. I feel like a retard but here goes. The IMDB plug in works fine. I SWEAR I had deleted the net/plugins data that is mentioned in the install process at one time. However, I retraced my steps and there it was with the IMDB data and all. I deleted the folders and everything started working immediately. What a doofus. Don't know what I did to get that folder back but I was my own worst enemy. No heed for nielm to do anything, I just need to look a little closer at my own steps.

Niel, could you add an option to ignore words in parenthesis () in titles.

I have some titles of movies that have (All Day) or (LBX, DD) in the title, and I would like to keep the title the same, but the IMDB search does not return anything because of the extra info.

IMDB functions not in menu after I restart sagetv
Using SageTV 4.0, winxp sp 2.


I've been trying to get the IMDB stvi to work all night, but I just can't seem to figure out what's going on. I've followed all the instructions on all the pages.

First I installed dynamic menu (btw are the icons suposed to show up? I mean I extracted dynamic_menu_icons.zip to my root sagetv folder, they extract to \STVs\OriginalV2\MlbDude\Default, but the dynamic menu xml looks for them in "icon="STVs\dynamic_menu_icons\mm_search_title.png" ).

Next I install IMDB.stvi. Again following all instructions. And everythings seems great I'm loving the imdb feature, but then just to make sure everythings going to stay great I shut down sagetv and restart it. And then all the imdb options are gone and if I the menu item I created (internal screen>searchimdb) and try to use it , it's mostly blacked out (no "keyboard") with only some text along the top I can't read ( looks like 2 line superimposed over each other) and the text of the bottom buttons.

Please can someone help? Another odd thing I've noticed even from a fresh install it seems I have a version of malore_import already installed.

Revarc just doing the same thing myself and can help on the icons.

The Icons by default extract to STVs\OriginalV2\Mlbdude\Default.
I had to create a new directory STVs\dynamic_menu_icons and copy the mm* icons in there to get them to work.

A new clean install of SageTV 4.1 with only the Webserver and dynamic plug-ins installed.

I am getting a similair thing to polypro in this posting

I tried using the nielm_sageutils.jar 24.03.06 22:03 that came with web server.
Then I tried the nielm_sageutils.jar 05.02.06 13:30 that comes in IMDB_search_import36.zip. Both files have same problem.
Within SageTV I get the messgae "IMDB Search failed net.sf.sageplugins.sageimdb.DbFailureException: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset"
and the button "Back to main Menu".

Connection wise I am on a network behind a proxy server, IE and firefox browsers work fine. Any ideas anyone????
