I'm not having any issues with the new version nielm posted recently. Not sure but sounds like it did not install properly for you. You might try unzipping the file into the SageTV folders again. Wish I could help more.

I tried to download this file, but for some reason it won't download (Maybe site is down?). Is anyone else having the same problem? If someone can attach the file to the forums that would be great.

There is an update out that should fix it. This is just the imdb plugin not a SageMC update. |

Still no dice
Anyone else still having problem getting this latest update working?
I've tried a few things like unzipping and copying to my Sage folder, unzipping DIRECTLY to my Sage folder, importing, rebuilding, nothing working for me. Can someone confirm that this fix of Neilm's is still working with IMDB? I haven't had any problems in the past couple of updates for this (over the past year or so), but now I'm just Any help is appreciated...

No change after installing plugin
I followed the instructions to install the plugin (v6.11). Sage service was stopped and Sage closed while installing. After restarting Sage, I can't find any changes to the features of sage. No new options in Online services, no buttons or popups in the media section...
I'm running Sage v6.3.5.159, Java version 1.6.0_13. I have tried all 3 User Interface Themes that come with Sage. No joy. Any ideas anyone? What have I missed? |

Did you import the STVI into the default interface?

In the Advanced settings, I used the "Import SageTV Application package (.STVi File)" option and chose "imdb_search_import.stvi". So if I understand correctly, I think I did do this.

1. From Main Menu choose "Setup" 2. From Setup Menu choose "Detailed Setup" 3. From Detailed Setup Menu choose "Advanced" 4. From Advanced, choose "Manage STVI Plugins" 5. From STVI Plugin Manager pop-up menu choose "Add a new STVI plugin file" 6. From the pop-up menu navigate to the imdb_search_import.stvi file and click on it. 7. You will be returned to the Plugin Manager pop-up menu and you should see the imdb stvi listed in the "Current STVI plugins:" area. 8. Click "Force Rebuild and Reload STV File with Plugins" 9. Sage will restart and the screen may flash a few times as it imports each of the STVI's one at a time. 10. Done.

In the Advanced menu, I don't have "Manage STVI Plugins" as an option.
I have not tried to change the STV, so I thought I had the default. I tried loading the SageTV3.xml, but that made no difference. Could it be that I am using v6.3? Any other ideas? |

Adding IMDB trailers playback..
I have asked this question before; but, at the time, not too many people saw my post.
Is there a reason why IMDB functionality is limited to everything but the trailer itself? Maybe its super hard to do? I almost always end up going to IMDB.com and searching for the movie I'm about to record or watch and play the trailer. It would add so much value to sageTV as a whole if we had the ability to play the trailer to movies right in the IMDB menu (for both SageMC and standard SageTV). In my opinion there's no replacement for watching the trailer compared to reading just the synopsis. Is it a lot of work? Maybe if its relatively easy to do, we can get one of the IMDB addon developers to add this on. I'm sure the person adding this extra code would use it a lot too.. pretty much every time they record/watch a movie they havent seen.

Hmm.. something doesnt sound right, it doesnt seem any different than how all the other flash video files that sageTV plays back already such as Youtube, Google, Netflix trailers, etc. Hulu is a different issue from what I thought I read.

Is there any way to integrate the imdb data into the description of the video library itself rather than having to search each video?
