GVID search errors

Has anyone noticed that using the gvid search feature produces the below error messages for some of the video search results? I dont see these errors me when manually type "NameOfMovie trailer HD" in the Online Videos Google search. I dont expect there to be a fix anytime soon or even a response, but I thought I would at least mention it here.

"Unable to determine the video fie to download "

"Video does not have MPEG4, FLV, or AVI file type"

Sincerely,
MKANET

Sage v7 version?

I just upgraded to Sage v7 and I already miss this feature.
Are there plans to update it for Sage v7?

Thanks.

I would never upgrade to v7 without Neilms IMDB setup. That's a must feature for us.

And what's wrong with stuckless's Metadata Tools? Works perfectly well for retrieving metadata for movies and television episodes. Including data from IMDB.

IMDB search is different then Stuckless metadata tools... I too miss it I like to look up actors etc.. on IMDB.

Sometimes I cannot remember an actors name in a show I am watching... I click on IMDB find the actor then display all the shows and movies that actor starred in.

IMDB search allows you to search the movies details (actors, cast, location, etc) and many here use it extensively.

The links in the IMDB search are great in that you can follow through various types connections ( like what movies actor X has been in, etc).

I know what IMDB is and realize how good of a tool it can be. I use it innumerable times a week. I've just never had the desire to browse that information in SageTV. My use of IMDB in SageTV is limited strictly to adding metadata to my movie collection. My computer is there to actually browse IMDB for more detailed information and my HD200 is there to watch TV and movies.

Just because you don't use it in Sage the way some of us do doesn't mean it's not useful to us. I don't have a large movie collection so I've never had the desire to bother with metadata for a "movie collection" but I understand why others do.

As for using a computer to look up IMDB information. If I'm watching TV in my den with my HD200 I don't want to pause the show, go to my office, turn on the monitor, launch firefox, go to IMDB, type in the name of the show, and browse through the actors to find out their name and what other shows I recognize them from. Why would I want to do that when I can click on a show, click IMDB Search and have it all displayed on my 57" TV in a fraction of the time? Oh and I actually like the way it's displayed in Sage better than on the IMDB website. For me it's much more functional and easier to read and find things.

Before I had the IMDB plug-in I used to do it through the computer like you're suggesting, but honestly it was not nearly as nice as having the plug-in.

Some of us don't have a full blown computer in our bedrooms, we have the HD200 for that and it is very convenient to be able to browse IMDB from SageTV.

Just because you prefer to use a PC to browse IMDB data does not mean everyone does is the same way.

IMDB with SageTV v7

Hey guys,
I guess I'm not sure what to get out of this thread. Is the IMDB working with version 7 or not? Do I need to download it and install it separately?

I am running SageTV version 6.6.2.218 and am just about to upgrade to version 7. I loved the way I was able to search right from the movie for all the info and then save it with the movie cover image.

Will I still be able to do this?

Thanks,
Dana

I just isntalled this plugin in v7 yesterday, it worked for 7 movies was able to download the image to display the DVD cover but now it no longer downloads the DVD cover image. Does anyone have any idea why it would stop saving the image even when I tell it to save only image?
