Service Question

I have been unable to run sage 7 service since I moved to Windows 8 and now windows 10 everthing would just lock up whe i tried to use the sagetv service. I just used sagetv without the service However when I maually upgraded to Opens Source Sagetv I was able to run the service, but The first thing I noticed was my remoted commands where all screwed up I fixed that then I could not play any video recorded or live?

I turned the service back off rebooted and everthing was back to normal any ideas what is going on and how i can fix it?

FYi
I tried to use the windows installer version to upgrade but it did not work sagetv crashed

Likely some difference in how things are configured in Detailed Setup -> Audio/Video.

When sagetv is running in standalone mode (only running SageTV.exe directly), the server AND ui settings are all stored in Sage.properties.

However, when running in service mode, the server side settings are still stored in Sage.properties, but ui settings (including video playback settings), are stored in SageClient.properties.

Essentially, if things are working in standalone mode, go to that setup screen and see what everything is set at. Then, enable service mode, go back and likely those settings will be different. Set them to what was there in standalone, and see if things start working right.

I had the same issue of not being able to run the service on version 7.xx but once I moved to the open source version 9.xx it works fine! Never did figure out why it never work in version 7.
